Steam: Mit Bitcoins bezahlen – geht das?

Sounds like Valve could use IOTA

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 16%. (I'm a bot)
Steam is no longer accepting bitcoin as a payment method, game company and distributor Valve announced today.
The company is attributing its decision to cryptocurrency's "High fees and volatility." In a blog post, Valve explained that bitcoin transaction fees have gone up to nearly $20 per transaction last week, "Compared to roughly $0.20 when we initially enabled Bitcoin." Those fees then have to be shouldered by gamers making purchases on Steam, and the total cost to consumers could be even higher if the value of bitcoin dips in the meantime.
Even if the value of bitcoin were to go up while the user completes the transaction, and Steam has to refund the difference to the user, the transaction fee must be paid by the user again for the refund.
There's even the scenario, Valve explains, that as the user or Steam tries to cover the difference in value, the value of bitcoin then changes again, causing more problems.
Steam says it could reconsider this decision to remove bitcoin as a payment option in the future, if the currency finds more stability, but for now it's just working with any customers who are still dealing with underpayments or transaction fees.
Just last week, the value of bitcoin skyrocketed past $10,000, marking a 933 percent increase since January of this year.

Valve, Steam and Bitcoin support

Is anyone else sincerely disappointed that Valve dropped btc support during the dust spam event that sent fees soaring?
It was one of the few places I enjoyed spending btc and I can't think I was the only one that didn't want to lodge my CC details with them but still purchase games.
How could one (or a group) go about trying to get them to reconsider. Especially now that the network fees are super low again. Petition maybe?

Take a moment and send a friendly, professional request to Gabe N (President of Valve Corporation and Steam), requesting Bitcoin Cash be added to Steam, in place of Bitcoin.

Got this idea from this user here:

When emailing, make sure to explain how the fees on Bitcoin Cash are pennies or less, in most cases.

Chance of Valve re-enable bitcoin payment option on steam?

IMO we should appreciate that Steam was early giving us bitcoin payment option. I actually spent bitcoin on steam (not regretting at all despite major increase of btc price).
Under what condition do you think Valve would re-enable it again?

SteamLoader.com - Steam Gift Cards direct from Valve for Bitcoins

Site: SteamLoader.com
I managed to get through the maze that is Valve software to contact their North American distributor. We forged a relationship and now I can buy Wallet Codes for Steam directly from the source.
Now you can buy the codes from me and not worry about getting your Steam account being canceled because you bought a code from someone that used a stolen credit card.
The bad news is that they don't have a working online-activation system, so I have to pre-purchase the wallet codes. This means that I only keep an inventory of a few dozen cards on the site. When I sell out for the day, it'll be another day until I can restock. All my profit will be used to increase the inventory until there is enough for days worth without reloads.
Anyone want to give it a try? I'm pretty sure of my code, but if you encounter any problems, just PM me here or email [email protected] and I'll fix it up.
UPDATE: Thanks everyone for the great 2 days of sales! I ran out of stock. Frankly, I didn't anticipate the Steam winter sale occurring on the same day that I got all my inventory in place.
I found a few bugs with my site during those 2 days. Most of them involved either race conditions where two people would make an order at the same time for only one code that was left, or the system confirming two codes at the same time and sending the same code to two people. This only happened 3 times, but it was very embarassing when it did.
Lastly, saw a bug where if the blockchain was being really slow and confirmation was more than an hour, my system wouldn't deliver the code (to prevent people from reserving codes but not paying for them unless BTC drops so much they make money)
I have fixes in my head for all of these things and I'll have them in place before I restock. I'll also have a few usability changes in place (QR code, updating order page/invoice, etc)
If you are interested in buying any inventory, feel free to fill in your email address on the site for the kind of code you want. It's not an obligation or anything, it'll just help me plan for how much inventory to order.
